Business incubators from Novi Sad and Senta promote competitiveness and stimulate economic growth

Within the second working visit to business incubators in the AP Vojvodina, the Vice-President of the Provincial Government and the Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism, Ivan Đoković, the Undersecretary of the Provincial Secretariat for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government, Nebojša Vojnović and the Director of the Office for the Implementation of the Development Programme, Dejan Avdalović, visited Novi Sad and Senta.

The purpose of the visit was an operative analysis of current state of affairs in every incubator, in order to create adequate measures and models of financial, logistic and expert support which would contribute to their sustainability and functionality.

Vice-President Đoković introduced representatives of incubators with incentives and strategic goals, envisaged by the Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism for 2017, in order to determine what is necessary for incubators and what they lack,  so as to be more efficient in defining criteria and measures for present and future tenants.

Business incubator from Novi Sad was established at the end of 2009, for the purpose of adjusting its services to those starting up new business ventures, mainly in the field of IT technologies. Founders of the business incubator are: the City of Novi Sad, the Vojvodina Investment Promotion Fund (VIP), the Faculty of Technical Sciences from Novi Sad and PUC “Informatika”, supported by the USAID and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).

The incubator from Senta, established by the Municipality and the VIP Fund, has supported development of manufacturing entrepreneurship for nine years, mainly supporting production activities, such as wood processing and plastics production. The expected results of the completion of the adaptation of this business premise, which is currently underway, are new jobs and new tenants.
